A Week of Praises

This week is one of praise. I have two things that I'm very thankful for.

On this exact day last year, I was in the hospital scheduled for surgery. I was scared and didn't know if I was going to make it through the procedure. Through God's grace, I pulled through. Looking back on the healing process, I see that He provided me with comfort, strength, and the support of praying friends and family. I give thanks to Him for letting me live to see the second thing for which I owe Him praise.

This year marks the fourth anniversary of our wedding. On May 16, 2009, we said our "I do's" in front of a small gathering of family and close friends in Ft. Lee, Virginia.

Since then, God (and the Army) led us to four states, two apartments, a townhome, a house, one deployment to Afghanistan, and countless road trips that will no doubt provide inspiration for a quirky story one day. We can even say we're the proud parents of the world's hairiest three year-old, our cocker spaniel Noodle.

What can I say? He's our baby. He'll probably get his own photo album on the coffee table one day.

This weekend we'll celebrate our anniversary by attending a fun event. If you guessed it involves costume and some form of strange time warp, you're right. Medieval Times, here we come.

What is the best trip you've taken?
